Very gratifying to me to read so many happy reviews. Now 85, I am the person who started the club in 1972. I called it "Furness Sun Club". Unfortunately due to family problems I had to hand it over to others, who renamed it.
Does anybody remember me? Miles Mellonie, wife Yvonne, & 4 children, lived in Ulverston.

It is fantastic. It is nature. No chip shops, n one selling tickets and spades and cheap plastic gift. Nothing just the wonderful British Countryside, the beach, the sea and some wonderful friendly people either walking or relaxing as nature intended. Some camping.
They were very friendly, I was lucky and we had a wonderful warm day. I took plenty of drinks and and some food. I met a nice guy who invited me to have tea with him in his tent. I was put at ease no pressure and I enjoyed myself.

Older guy who has discovered the joys of naked living and socializing a little too late but intend to pursue for as long as I am able.

Just space and tranquility in which to enjoy naturism within nature its self. The absence of the intrusion of unnatural "Facilities" only adds to attraction. Lakeland club is not for the naturist who must have man made accessories that would be expected in a city location. Here is the ultimate which the independent naturist desires. I.e. freedom to live where there is sea in which to bathe and acres of natural herbage on which to wander without being encumbered by any clothes or even footwear. Lakeland club is different so it would be inappropiate to make a comparison to any other naturist club

I found the members to be welcoming ,helpfull, and very
friendly. As a first time naturist i soon felt at ease and comfortable
with the members and surroundings . I will be visiting again
very soon and hope to become a membet in the near future.

Lakeland is a wonderful site with friendly, welcoming club members who do not intrude on your privacy and have always given me a friendly wave or hello.
I was amazed at at how quiet and remote this site is although it is only a short drive past millom and Haverigg and the rest of civilisation, you do feel a million miles from anywhere. There are absolutely no facilities whatsoever on site, but who needs them when you can read a good book, be without clothes all day and take a gentle stroll down to the beach which is quite literally within 30 seconds walk and 99% deserted.
I am fairly new to Naturism and are still adapting to the lifestyle, this site is perfect for those that want peace and tranquility and may be a little 'shy'. You are left to do your own thing if that is what you want, without intrusion.
I hope this site remains as it is for many years to come. I have returned 3 times in as many weeks for 1 and 2 night stays and cant wait to go back. It is safe to say that I will be joining as a member and if I can persuade the wife (although she is not very naturist) she can tag along to.
I could go on typing but I would just waffle on about how impressed I have been, it wont be everyone's cup of tea but for me......PERFECT!!!

Don't expect facilities and luxury, just make sure you have enough things in your car or van for your stay.

Entertainment is of the sitting around reading and chatting variety. The beach is superb but a towel or similar should be carried in case of passers by who seem infrequent and not unduly bothered. Excellent for a get away from it all break but you ought to take a good book.
