Opinions and experiences of visitors with Plage Naturiste du Camping la Grande Cosse

We are also curious about your experiences with Plage Naturiste du Camping la Grande Cosse. Please let us know!

Grande Cosse used to be a lovely tranquil naturist site. It is not now. Apparently there are new owners under the banner of Yelloh Village, who have changed everything for the worse. There is loud music from the bar until midnight and very often someone on a loud microphone in the daytime shouting, which permeates the whole campsite. Loud music is left on at the pool and the activities are poor, very loud and in your face - quite unnecessary. What a disappointment , it has become like Benidorm !
All we wanted is a nice quiet relaxing time. We appreciate there have to be activities for children but it is not necessary to spoil it for everyone else with booming sounds and people shouting through amplifiers.
There is one particularly loud lady who conducts the Aquarobics. Having suffered this ear bashing in the morning, we thought we would go for a drink at the bar on Tropical night. Disaster - she was there again interrupting the music and shouting down the microphone so we had to leave.
The wifi like most in France is useless and not worth the money - we could never get connected during the early evening.
There are some good modern mobile homes on the site to rent and ample camping pitches .The pool area is lovely as is the beach - please get rid of the loud lady and make it a more peaceful atmosphere.

This is an ideal site for those who are first time naturist campers. The camp has a very relaxed atmosphere, there is no pressure to take part in any of the organised activities. The pool area is superb and protected from the frequent gusty winds. The naturist beach is large and allows for long walks without the need to clothe. The walk to the near by town is very relaxing, (you need to take clothing for the last 500m or so). If you prepare for the mosquitos, they won't spoil your stay. The reception staff can be slow at times but the booking in and out processes where smooth. Whilst the weather is dry the toilet blocks are always clean, during wet weather the floor gets dirty, caused by wet sand being walked in. The toilet blocks are cleaned a couple of times a day. La Grande Cosse feels like a 3++ star site trying to achieve 4 star status.

Pitches are ok .take away food was very nice but took ages to be served. Nice pools .reception staff were very nice .we had meal in restaurant once wasn't very impressed we found the waiter on our table to be very rude . Because we don't speak french he was making the sound of a duck to explain what he was holding in he's hand when serving us much to the amusement of other tables .i missed my chance to tell him I didn't order frogs legs. We didn't order a sweet after seeing one of the waiters sneeze into he's hands and just carry on working .

This is a quality site in every way.
With the ACSI discount it becomes unbeatable for value.

A well managed naturist site that feels welcoming. Nice safe sandy beach and pleasant naturist walks around the salt flats. Strong winds can be a problem all along this coast so a strong awning is essential and sitting on the beach can be unpleasant when the wind is strong. A well stocked on site supermarket and pleasant entertainment evenings make this a site that you will want to return to.

Stayed for three weeks in August 2010 and have nothing but praise for this site. Very relaxed atmosphere with a good mix of French, Belgium, Dutch, Italian, Swiss, English and German families and couples.Naked or clothed, its your choice except for by the pool.
Amenities are good and shower blocks etc kept very clean. Prices in the site shop are not a rip off as at some other sites. There is a good food takeaway for when cooking is just too much bother. Check in is easy as all the staff speak very good english and are very helpfull.

Its a gentle 10 minute walk to the fabulous beach from the site through a nature reserve. Be aware there is some adult activity taking place most days in the dunes behind the beach if this concerns you, but is easily avoided.

We would rate this site as being perfect for people new to the naturist lifestyle who might find some other naturist sites a little intimidating.

Due to the location of this site being next to salt marshes and a nature reserve mosquitos can be a problem so make sure you have a bug zapper, citronella candles etc.

Fabulous site, we are returning next year as its the best naturist site we have ever visited.

A superb location within easy (naked) walking distance to the beach. Can also drive from the site onto the beach. Lovely site with all amenities.

Much improved since our visit 9 years ago. Beautiful beach and very good facilities. It's still one of our favourite sites and we'll be there in July 2009.
