Description

The only "official" naturist beach on the island. Located on the north west of the island, it is almost exclusively naturist with only a few more inhibited individuals usually during August.

Take the bus to the end of the island (bus stop 26) and walk up the track beside the drinks kiosk. Follow the track round to the right at the top then drop down to the left after a further 50 metres. The beach at the bottom here is big banana and now, exclusively textile. However, little banana can be reached via a walk round the rocks to the right of big banana (as you face the sea) or by continuing to the right as you approach big banana, up & over the hill.

Little banana has a small taverna.

The track opposite the bus stop is now a concrete road leading to a hotel and there is no drinks kiosk there. Walk up this road and follow wooden signs for big banana and little banana. Eventually the road starts to go downhill and there are signs for Nest Bar which is on big banana or Blackbird bar on little banana. No need to go to big banana and walk across the rocks. The beach bar, not really a taverna, is owned by the hotel and is ridiculously expensive, 7 euros for a very small beer, as are the sunbeds. There was plenty of room on the sand when we were there and it’s well worth the walk.
