Opinions and experiences of visitors with Tando

Travelling as a single man in a camper van (wife not a naturist, on holiday elsewhere) I found Tando first as an ideal base for Newcastle and Hadrian’s Wall, but also as a welcome site with facilities.
After a day’s travelling the luxury of communal showers and a sauna was very relaxing. The wardens were friendly and helped make a convivial evening in the common room. I loved the woodland walk where you can stroll naked under the trees. There is a raised pool and an occasional hot tub.
It hosts quite a variety of people, some in semi residential lodges, others in caravans, and space for camping in tents or vans.
I have visited several times, staying for several days and enjoyed my stay each time. I look forward to returning and using it as a base for visits to Northumberland.

What an excellent place to camp and caravan, plenty of flat areas, with a pavilion, sauna, swimming pool (in the summer), and the friendliest of welcomes. They also have ad hock home spun entertainment with many great events. It has a natural woodland area, a children’s play area,
A pavilion with TV, microwave, cooking, facilities, fridges and freezers, etc in fact the site has all you could need even a wood burning stove to keep you warm if the weather turns cold. Oh and by the way the sauna is wood burning too. There is also a small stream and the wildlife is great, (watch out for the kingfisher near the footbridge.
I wont go on but I recommend you visit to find out all the secrets yourself see if you can find the tree in the woodland area that was there before the wars with Scotland had come to an end.
Do yourself a favour and make your next visit here.
